Common information model objects for an object-based java computing environment


Methods and apparatus for mapping of a common information model (CIM) object into a Java™-based environment. According to one aspect of the present invention, a for mapping a CIM object into a platform-independent computing environment includes providing the platform-independent computing environment with a first class structure that includes CIM-specific classes, and providing the platform-independent computing environment with the capability to support unsigned integers. In one embodiment, the CIM-specific classes include classes derived from a base class for managed system elements.
